Circa 1984

Boy, I really wish I still had my first BMX bike. It was a Mongoose Minigoose with the metal motomags and a red pad set with red tires. I laid red skids all over the neighborhood on that steed. If I had it now it would have been a great start to the kid's college fund.

Jaws of life

This is what bike parts see right before they get clamped. Maybe I'm having too much fun with the camera...

Spring Cleaning

Long overdue and yet still necessary. Organizing the workshop and taking inventory. Thank you dollar store. Pump up the jams!

Snow is all gone, time to ride!

It's getting warmer, the days are getting longer and the snow is all gone. Time to get out and ride bikes...or into the shop to work on bikes :)

Things are warming up in the workshop.

It's getting hotter in here...thank goodness, because the unheated workshop was putting a damper on my workload in the wintertime. NEAT now has efficient, effective heat that can be used when needed without any dedicated reduction in workspace.

Vintage bike show in MA

I recently attended a vintage bike show & swap meet in Dudly MA. There were some very nice examples of vintage bikes, but of course, my favorite of the show was the 50's style custom chopper with the dragster rear wheel. I'd make one myself if I could justify the time and money to build a cool bike I'd rarely ride. People appreciated the cargo bike I brought, but it was the wrong venue to sell one at. I guess I should have brought my 1984 GT Pro Performer BMX from my garage instead...

Decorative Lugs

Set up the tree this weekend with the kids and hung my favorite ornament: A Henry James lug that I bought from Rivendell a few years ago. They hang quite nicely on the tree, and make decent napkin holders as well. This one will NOT be getting hours of filing and polishing to make it shine.
